In travel (and in life in general) expectations and reality aren’t always aligned. There was one area of Bali I was particularly excited to visit. I was certain it would be the highlight of my trip. I planned to spend more nights there than any other place on our 2-week itinerary. I’m talking about Uluwatu. And it was not at all like I Expected.
I’ve given it quite some thought, and I think there are many factors at play here.
If you ask me what’s the warmest place I’ve ever been to, I can without a doubt answer: Pura Luhur Uluwatu! Apparently, the name translates to mean “Noble Temple Uluwatu”. But I’m pretty sure that it actually means “The hottest place on the planet”. Maybe don’t quote me on that, though…
Pura Luhur Uluwatu, in itself, is fairly simple. It’s the temple’s location that beckons guests to it daily. Perched on the edge of a lofty cliff with the Indian Ocean waves rolling in below, it boasts some of the most breathtaking panoramic views in all of Bali.
