It seems no matter where you go, everyone is on the lookout for the best views. People pay good money to ride an elevator to a high floor if they’re promised a jaw-dropping panorama at the top. In Oahu you simply have to take a short and scenic drive on the ten mile long road that snakes up Round Top to Tantalus Lookout to get that coveted view.
Did I mention it’s free, too? No entrance fee and no parking fee.
Yep. Its easy to get to and doesn’t cost anything. Put it on your “must do” list now!
We stopped along the way at a picturesque tree swing we saw alongside the road. Because why not?
It was so windy at the lookout that even my eyebrows were blowing all over the place.
Would not suggest bringing your beloved hat along. Or really anything that isn’t strapped to your body.
The least popular time to go is in the morning, and the most popular time is at sunset. Since we like to avoid the crowds when we can, we went early morning. It was a bit overcast, so the ocean didn’t look as vibrant and the city was sort of grey, but it was a breathtaking view nonetheless.
A trip to Oahu should most certainly include a stop at Tantalus Lookout.
